All Saints Day Mass honors Día de los Muertos traditions

We lifted our hands, voices and hearts to “Celebrate Life!” — the theme of this year's All Saints Day Mass and Día de los Muertos remembrance. We're so grateful to our Campus Ministry Council and to our celebrant, Fr. Jim Bevacqua from Holy Family Glendale, for guiding this special liturgy, which opened with these words from Cornelia Connelly: “Why are we not all Saints? Only because our hearts are not fixed in God.”

Special thanks also to our student and faculty musicians (including our sophomore singers/signers, who performed the entrance hymn in ASL!) and to our Latinas Unidas group, who lovingly prepared an ofrenda honoring our community’s deceased loved ones.

Oh, and did we mention the tamales? Latinas Unidas also hosted a lunchtime tamale sale fundraiser after Mass to benefit Para Los Niños. #ActionsNotWords
