  • 1. Request Your Username and Password

Each candidate will be assigned a password-protected account to complete the online application process. To request your username and password for the online application, simply submit an online inquiry form and we will use this information to create your family's account. If you are an 8th-grade family applying for the 2021-22 school year, we will automatically send your username and temporary login password to the email address(es) included on the inquiry form in mid-October 2020.

If you have any questions about setting up your online application account, please email us or call (626) 799-9121 ext. 287 or ext. 298.
  • 2. Submit Online Application for Admission

The application deadline is Jan. 22, 2021.

Our online application includes a step-by-step Admissions Checklist with detailed instructions to help you navigate the process. The form is divided into several sections, including contact details, academic and other school information, extracurricular interests and short essay questions. The form will autosave your entries, so you may log out and resume your application at any time. A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due upon submission, and can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card.

Please log in to the iMSS portal to begin or continue the online application process.

Our Admissions team is always here to personally guide you through the entire application process, so please don't hesitate to email us or call (626) 799-9121 ext. 287 or ext. 298 if you have any questions about the online application.
  • 3. Submit Academic, Personal References & Transcripts

(They will be provided with detailed instructions via email on how to complete and submit their recommendations online.) Download the transcript request form and deliver directly to your current school.
  • 4. Financial Aid

Mayfield is committed to supporting a financial aid program for students who lack the financial resources to meet the cost of tuition. To qualify for this program students must request and complete a financial statement by Jan. 29, 2021.

For more information please refer to the Financial Aid page or call the Admissions Office at (626) 799-9121 ext. 287.
  • 5. Take the Character Skills Snapshot

This year, in lieu of ISEE testing, students will take the Enrollment Management Association's Character Skills Snapshot. This online tool measures students’ preferences toward seven character skills: intellectual engagement, teamwork, initiative, resilience, self control, open-mindedness, and social awareness. The Character Skills Snapshot is intended to capture a snapshot of the student at the moment when they apply and the results are valid for one year.

The Snapshot takes approximately 25 minutes to complete online and must be done in one sitting before Jan. 29, 2021.
  • 6. Interview

— Stephanie R. ’21

Mayfield is not an ordinary high school. It is the place that becomes your second home and where you meet the people that you look forward to seeing everyday. Mayfield has always been there for me and pushed me to become a better version of myself even when I doubted myself—I always have support no matter what.

— Holly G. '23

I can go on for days explaining why I enjoy all the different aspects of Mayfield! The academics are challenging and motivating, and I feel as if everyday I can come home and share with my family that I have gained more knowledge. The support from teachers, staff, and other students is astounding. If I have questions, or need help, someone is always there to guide me. Mayfield sparked my enjoyment for going to school.
