Students develop visual creativity in a digital world

Film and Media Conservatory is an eye-opening introduction to all aspects of the art of making film, video and media. Foremost, this conservatory emphasizes the art and design principles utilized in filmmaking.

Students first explore the building blocks of film and video making and other short-topic formats in order to gain an appreciation and respect for the electronic visual/audio media in all forms and genres.

Students take a hands-on approach with video software and digital technology to create video presentations, music videos and short films. Throughout the course they create original works using newfound artistic and technology skills, including video shooting techniques, lighting and sound; utilizing storyboard and script formats; and editing in a variety of software.
