Head's Weekly Message — Feb. 22, 2019

Dear Mayfield Senior School Parents,

What an amazing sight Thursday afternoon—snowflakes over Strub Hall! Will this cold and stormy weather ever end? I’m missing our California sunshine!

Even though the weather did not cooperate perfectly last Friday, we enjoyed the most wonderful Hearts for Arts party—delicious food and drink, wonderful company and outstanding music performed by members of the Grimm family! Thanks to everyone who participated in this memorable evening, especially the members of the Patrons for the Arts under the wonderful leadership of Tim Burke, and our extraordinary arts faculty led by Kimberly Gomez.

The Mayfield Arts community is also in the home stretch preparing for our spring musical—Into the Woods. With performances scheduled for March 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. I know this is going to be an amazing production. Please mark your calendars and consider supporting our performers by taking out an advertisement in our program.

The countdown has also begun for our biggest party of the year, our annual Benefit, Mayfield Rocks! Please buy your tickets today to support our school while having the best time ever during this 1980s-themed party. There will be fantastic auction items, great food, and a fabulous band. We will be especially honoring our cherished alumna, Kathleen “Tede” Clougherty Regan ’64, one of my favorite people of all time. So get your dancing shoes ready—it’s going to be an incredible night!

Finally, I’m so looking forward to welcoming over 30 alumnae home to Mayfield today for Career Day. Your daughters will have the opportunity to hear from a number of our distinguished alums, and we are hoping that the connections our students make with their Mayfield sisters will be inspiring and enlightening as they begin to envision their own career paths.

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
