Student Support & Wellness
Supported Fully, Empowered Completely.
Girls become their best when they are fully seen and supported by the people around them. That kind of relational, holistic care sits at the center of support and wellness at Mayfield.
Support is not one office or one person, but a team. Our Student Support Team–led by our Director of Student Support and made up of our licensed mental health professional, nurse, learning specialists, college counselors, Director of Student Life, academic advisors, and the athletics department–work together to offer comprehensive and personalized support.
We partner with teachers and families to let every Mayfield student know that someone has her back. The result is a culture where asking for help is a sign of strength, and where support and independence grow side by side.
Key Components
Integrated & Holistic Support
When a student needs support, our Student Support Team collaborates to determine the best plan. We partner with her and her family and we measure our successes and opportunities for growth. We are grounded in our mission and continuous communication keeps us accountable.
- Coordinated individualized plans to seamlessly connect support with academics, social, and mental and physical health.
- Regular communication with families.
Individualized Counseling
Students can ask for support about anything and everything. From managing friendship dynamics to academic pressures and mental-health challenges , a trusted adult is here to listen.
- Individual and small-group counseling
- Drop-in and scheduled appointments
- Crisis response and referrals to trusted community providers
Health Office
Our nurse provides illness, injury and medication care for students throughout the day. Appropriate steps will be taken when a situation calls for a parent, physician, or a specialist and our nurse will make those referrals as needed.
Formation of Self Program
Our signature, girl-focused four-year program equips students with the emotional, social, and personal skills to thrive in high school and far beyond. Led by expert faculty, students build foundational habits for physical and mental health, and by graduation, they are ready to step into the world with strong social and emotional competencies, resilient coping strategies and a healthy, confident sense of self.
