Head's Weekly Message — Nov. 9, 2018

Dear Mayfield Senior School Parents,

Just a short note to send greetings from Rosemont, Pennsylvania, where I am attending the annual meeting of Holy Child Heads of School. I look forward to this get-together every year to touch base with my Holy Child colleagues and hear about all the exciting programs at our sister schools, while sharing the good news from Mayfield. It’s also a great time for us to put our heads together to discuss the challenges we are all grappling with. All this while enjoying the beautiful fall colors and crisp autumn air.

This year, I had a special treat. Skip and I left Pasadena a day early so we could spend a little time in Brooklyn with my new granddaughter Madeline. She has grown so much in the last six weeks, and continues to be incredibly calm and alert. She loves all her Mayfield gifts and can’t wait to visit Mayfield at Christmastime!

One final reminder—don’t miss this weekend’s fall play, The Miracle Worker, with performances tonight and tomorrow night as well as Sunday afternoon. Skip and I are flying back to L.A. on Saturday night so we can attend the final performance. From the preview I saw last Monday at Community, I know it is outstanding!

I’m also looking forward to celebrating our athletes at the Fall Sports Awards Dinner this coming Wednesday. We are trying out a new program, and I know it will be a really fun evening. Also, please don’t forget to buy your Booster Club Christmas tree. Go Cubs!

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
