Oh, the places they’re going to college! See our stellar list!

Congratulations to the graduates of the Class of 2018, who will be attending 56 colleges and universities throughout the country and abroad, a reflection of their impressive Mayfield achievements and thoughtful college application process.
Just over half of the seniors, 53%, will be staying in California and the remainder will be dispersing to 20 states, Canada and Mexico. In addition, 26% will go on to Catholic universities. Every graduate will be matriculating to a four-year college or university.

They will be attending a diversity of colleges, including Bryn Mawr, Harvard, Loyola Marymount, Notre Dame, Purdue, Scripps, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC and Villanova, among others. Their hard work at Mayfield translated to more than $5 million in scholarships for their college years.

“We are proud of how our seniors handled what can be a particularly stressful time,” said Director of College Counseling Abigail Shaw. “They were level-headed and calm. They knew how the college application process works nowadays and knew how to tackle it.”

In sync with national trends, Mayfield seniors are increasingly taking advantage of early applications. Nearly all of our seniors were accepted to at least one college by January, decreasing the the stress of late-March notifications.

Their ultimate choices were the culmination of a careful process that begin in earnest their junior year, when most of them began exploring campuses on Mayfield-sponsored East and West Coast college trips. Mayfield’s top-notch college counseling process encourages students to find the best fit for their unique gifts.
