Looking to compete for league titles and playoff bids

Over the past two days, the Cubs welcomed 2023 with the first few games of the year. The Soccer teams continued their winning ways with both teams defeating La Cañada yesterday with identical 2-1 scores. The wins improved the Varsity team's record to 10-2-1 overall, and JV improving to 5-2. Varsity will be back in action today on the road at Providence while JV will host Westridge in their Prep League opener on Tuesday at Occidental.
The Basketball teams both dropped their first game of the new year last night against Providence. The Cubs played well in the loss, but Providence is the defending league champion and proved to be too much to handle. The Cubs will have a chance to get back on the winning track right away as they will travel to Arcadia for another league game this afternoon at Rio Hondo Prep.

Water Polo was our first team to start the new year with a match at Pasadena Poly on Wednesday. The Cubs recent struggles with the Panthers in the pool continued as Poly pulled away for a convincing win dropping Mayfield to 4-8. The Cubs will travel to Ventura to partake in the Buena Invitational today and tomorrow. The overnight trip will be a first for the team and will provide great experience as the Cubs make a push for a playoff berth throughout the month.

Despite the difficult weather conditions the Cubs have been able to keep their full schedule this week and all of the teams now will look to compete for league titles and playoff bids in the month of January. There is no better way to start the year than to come cheer on your favorite team. Hope to see you at a game wearing your red and cheering on the Cubs soon. GO CUBS!
