Next steps in Mayfield's Head of School Search

Now that we have concluded our candidate visits, the Search Committee will move into a time of analysis, reflection and discernment. The Committee will review all survey responses submitted, analyze all aspects of the candidates’ visits, and examine the reference and skills assessments we received for each finalist. Thank you to all those in our Mayfield community who took the time to offer feedback through the candidate surveys; we will read every response. Your input is tremendously valuable. After consideration of all of the data, the Search Committee will make a recommendation to the full Board of Trustees for the Board’s review and approval. We know that one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees is to hire the Head of School. This is a responsibility that we take very seriously and we will take time to discern the best possible decision for Mayfield Senior School

This is both an exciting and anxious time for our school community as we prepare for a transition to a new Head of School. We have seen, firsthand, how invested our community is in the outcome of this search, and we commend you for your love and care of our wonderful school. As we move into these final days of discernment, we ask that you remember Cornelia Connelly’s words to “pray and have great confidence in God who will take care of His own work and guide and govern it by His Holy Spirit.” Please pray for the Search Committee, the members of the Board of Trustees and the candidates as we move into this final phase of selection. And as Cornelia always encouraged, we hope everyone will “sustain a bright and joyful spirit” during this time of transition.

Thank you to our Mayfield community for your involvement in this search process.

On behalf of the Search Committee,

Chair, Head of School Search Committee
Vice Chair, Board of Trustees
