Head's Weekly Message — May 13, 2022

Dear Mayfield Senior School Community,

It is with a heart filled with love that we acknowledge this—the last day of school for the amazing Class of 2022. I know I’ve said it before—but I will say it again—I don’t know how I would have gotten through the last two years without the kindness, compassion, and determination of this inspiring group of young women.

These next few weeks will be filled with opportunities to honor our seniors. Today at mass, the entire school will send them off with blessings of gratitude and love. The celebration will continue tomorrow evening at Prom, which will be so much fun!  I’m also very much looking forward to our final vocal concert this Sunday, May 15, and our final instrumental program on Sunday, May 22.

Our seniors will begin their service projects on Monday—but we will be welcoming them back to campus for our Senior Tea on Wednesday, May 18 and the Spring Sports Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 19. So much to celebrate!

As we start the countdown to the end of the school year, I want to ask that we all stay very vigilant in our efforts to protect our community from COVID-19. We are experiencing an uptick of cases on campus, and with the advice of the Health Department, we are putting into place some additional safeguards. We strongly suggest that students opt to wear well-fitting face masks while indoors on campus. Until the end of the school year, eating will only be allowed outdoors. We are also asking all juniors, seniors, and their guests to take a rapid COVID-19 test on Saturday morning before attending Prom on Saturday evening. Our students will be given test kits this afternoon.

Please join me in holding the entire Mayfield community—especially our seniors and their families—in the Light as we pray for a healthy and safe completion of an amazing school year!

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
