Join us for our annual day of Alum Games on Monday, Dec. 20!

After a busy weekend when all three winter sports teams were in action in tournaments, the Cubs returned to action this week with continued success as each of the teams are showing huge signs of improvement. The soccer teams are leading the way. Varsity soccer is off to an impressive 5-1-1 start and picked up two more wins this week over Pasadena (6-1) and Monrovia (1-0) in the cold and wet conditions early in the week. JV soccer is on an impressive run as well. The JV Cubs have not lost a game since January of 2020. The Cubs also defeated the Bulldogs (1-0) and Wildcats (5-0) this week. The Varsity team will take part in the second day of the Best in the West Tournament tomorrow at Tustin High School after going 1-0-1 in their games last Saturday.

Water Polo got back on track last night, soundly defeating Westridge (17-6) and the Cubs are now in 2nd place in league at 2-1 and are off until their next game on January 7.

And the basketball teams are also playing very well as the league season starts this week. The Varsity Cubs lost to a talented Flintridge Prep team on Tuesday night, but came right back for the biggest win of the year last night over Blair (55-31). The Cubs will look to win their first league game of the year tomorrow afternoon at Providence. JV is a terrific 4-1 and 1-0 in league, after an upset of Flintridge Prep on Tuesday.

Equestrian also competed in the IEL Show #2 last weekend and results will be announced soon.

The Cubs will now get back to practice for the next couple of weeks as all three teams get ready for Prep League play to warm up in January. The highlight of the next two weeks will be our annual day of Alum Games on Monday, Dec. 20. The Varsity basketball team will host the alums at 1:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon in the gym and immediately after, the Varsity soccer team will welcome back our alums for a game at the field at St. Francis High School 3:00 p.m. the same day. We welcome all Cubs fans to come out and enjoy the return of some great former student-athletes in this special tradition.

GO CUBS!
