Head's Weekly Message — April 16, 2021

Dear Mayfield Senior School Parents,

What a joy to be able to actually see and talk with your daughters in person again! I know our teachers are so appreciating being back in the physical classroom as well. We continue to work hard to make sure that everyone is following all the health and safety protocols while on campus. I think the distance of six feet has certainly been imprinted!

On Wednesday our seniors had an amazing opportunity to hear from and talk with Dr. Erika Moore Taylor—a biomedical engineer who is also an expert in empowering young people to take ownership of their personal finances. In the most engaging and interesting way, she helped our students connect their future goals with the present and showed them how budgeting, saving, investing and planning can help them achieve those goals. I personally learned a lot—and I know our students did too.

Also, on Wednesday our students had the opportunity to vote for next year’s student government officers. I was so proud of all the candidates—congratulations to all those who ran—the speeches were so inspiring. Grade-level elections will be held next week.

Finally—I’m very much looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening at our amazing hybrid Mission-Driven Benefit! I know it is going to be such a fun time—and for such a great cause.

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
