Congratulations to the Class of 2019, whose members will be attending 55 colleges and universities throughout the country, an affirmation of their strong academic preparation at Mayfield and a thoughtful college application process.
They will be attending a diversity of colleges, including Barnard, Boston College, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Fullerton, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Lewis & Clark, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, Stanford, University of Southern California, and the University of Texas, Austin, among others.
We are particularly proud that Madeleine Biscaichipy ’19 will be attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, serving our nation with dignity and honor.
Although early planning began their sophomore year, the college application process began their junior year. Most juniors travelled with our college counselors to the East Coast during spring break on a Mayfield-organized trip to explore colleges. Also, many took advantage of a similar West Coast tour in June.
The seniors were busy in the fall, submitting 1,027 applications. The average number of applications completed per student was 11.
The 89 members of the class will be departing to 22 different states and Washington D.C. Our home state of California is the most popular location, with 43% of the class attending a Golden State college; of those, 25% selected a public university.
Catholic colleges are also popular choices, with 28% of the class attending. In addition, 61% of seniors reported receiving at least one scholarship offer.

Established in 1931, Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena, CA is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young women grades 9-12.
