A spring season championship and possible playoff berths at hand! Track & Field continues league dominance.

The Cubs returned from spring break and jumped right back into Prep League play. With just a few weeks left in the season, all four teams have important games in the coming weeks that will go a long way in determining league champions and playoff berths.
This week Track & Field continued its dominance of the Prep League, winning its third cluster meet in three tries. The Cubs scored 108 points, besting second place Flintridge Prep's 83 points with the rest of the league far behind. Sarah Tupy ’21 led the Cubs with two individual victories and was joined on the victory stand by Jolie Beegle ’21, Karissa Ho ’21, and Mia Koga ’20. The Cubs also won all three relays. This afternoon and evening Audrey Suarez ’21 will compete in the Arcadia Invitational, the most prestigious high school track and field invitational in the nation. All 50 states and even nine different countries will be represented! Thirteen other Cubs will compete in the Tiger Invitational at South Pasadena High School this afternoon.

Swim & Dive had an up and down week. Tuesday saw the defending champs from Flintridge Prep beat the Cubs, but yesterday varsity stormed back to defeat cross-town rival Westridge for the third year in a row, 100-70. The JV Cubs soundly defeated both schools and are now 3-0 in league. Next week, the Cubs face off against Chadwick and Poly. The Poly meet on Wednesday will see a familiar face on the other side of the pool—our beloved former Athletic Director and swim coach, Lynda Gilbert is now at the swim team helm for the Panthers, making for a fun afternoon!

Softball fell in two tough games to Poly and Westridge this week. The Cubs now sit in third place, 1/2 game out of second and 1 1/2 games out of 1st. The next three weeks will determine if the Cubs can win a second consecutive league title and qualify for the Division 7 playoffs. The Cubs were led on the mound by our Athlete of the Week, Jaylin Domingo '19. Jaylin led the Cubs to two important wins just before the break over Providence and Rio Hondo Prep. The Cubs face off against Rio Hondo again tomorrow in Arcadia.

Badminton continued their season facing off with defending state champions from San Gabriel. The Cubs battled tough, but eventually fell. The young team is improving with every match and and will soon be a power in the Almonte League.

With all of the important games, meets, and matches in the coming weeks, we hope to see lots of you cheering on our girls! Nothing inspires them more than a boisterous rooting section.

Also, don't forget: Dads, you still have one lucrative and fun way to support our student-athletes. Our annual Dads’ Poker Night is coming up on Thursday, April 25, right across the street from school. RSVP online now! We hope to have a big turnout—even beginners are welcome!

Thank you for all of your support and see you at the field (and on our Twitter feed)...GO CUBS!
