Head's Weekly Message — March 15, 2019

Dear Mayfield Senior School Parents,

Wow! The Mayfield community certainly rocked last Saturday night as we partied hard on behalf of our beloved school. Words can’t express my deep gratitude for everyone who contributed to this fabulous benefit—especially our co-chairs Michelle Brooks and Amy Kessel. Their leadership, dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm were absolutely contagious. Heartfelt thanks also extends to all committee members, our sponsors and supporters, and our very own Page Malloy. I also want to thank our amazing honoree, Kathleen “Tede” Clougherty Regan ’64, and the entire Clougherty clan for their loving support. We had record attendance and a fabulous result. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I also want to thank our outstanding student musicians and dancers who provided such incredibly wonderful entertainment for us. Thanks especially to Christin Hablewitz and Denise Leitner who took time out of their very busy preparation for our spring musical, Into The Woods.

Now—there is still time to get your tickets for this fabulous production! Skip and I attended opening night yesterday, and we were just blown away. The show is excellent in all ways—I couldn’t be prouder. This is a real tribute to our Conservatory for the Arts program and should not be missed. So please come out tonight or tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Pike for an awesome theatrical experience!

I also want to wish everyone a relaxing and rejuvenating spring break, which begins right after school next Friday, March 22. And don’t forget students have the day off this Monday, March 18 so our faculty can have a work day to prepare quarter grades.

Yes, today marks the end of the third quarter of this wonderful school year. I want to take a moment to acknowledge the blessing of this Mayfield community that we all create together every day. In the light of the recent college admissions scandal—I am grateful beyond words to be part of a school that really lives our Holy Child mission of integrity, inclusivity, and love. This comes in a huge way from our Mayfield parents. Thank you all for believing in the power of Cornelia’s vision.

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
