And then there were four!

And then there were four!  The Mayfield athletics calendar for this year is coming to a close.  We are down to just four student athletes still competing this season!  Today, Taylor Carey '22, who has committed to swimming for Vanderbilt University in the Fall, will become the 1st Mayfield Cub in school history to compete in the California State Swimming Championships at the Clovis Olympic Aquatics Complex. Taylor will be competing in her signature event, the 100 Breaststroke. You can follow her progress on twitter, as well as on the NFSH Network.  The meet starts at 1:00 today, and Taylor will be competing around 5:00 pm.

Tomorrow, we have three Cubs competing at the CIF Finals in Track & Field at Moorpark HS.  Sade Falese '23 (Long Jump), Cecilia Kvochak '23 (800m), and Sissy Page '25 (High Jump) will look to bring home individual CIF titles in their events.  The Cubs performed exceptionally well at last week's CIF Prelims - Sade and Sissy are the top qualifiers in their respective events, and Cecilia qualified fourth!

Earlier this week, our softball team concluded a memorable season by falling to the #2 seeded Katella Knights, 3-1, in a terrific 2nd round playoff game. The Cubs graduate four great seniors, but with a great group of freshmen, sophomores, and Juniors returning, the Cubs softball future looks bright!

Next week, we will celebrate our spring sport athletes with their banquet in the gym on Thursday
day, May 19 at 6:00pm.  If you plan on attending, please RSVP by today at the link here.

Again, follow @msscubs on twitter for swim updates today and track updates tomorrow, and GO CUBS!!!
