Head's Weekly Message — June 3, 2022

Dear Mayfield Senior School Community,

As we conclude this amazing school year—I just want to thank our entire Mayfield Senior School community for all their love and support. I think we have all grown and learned so much this year—more than we could have anticipated. And as we move into the summer months, I hope we all take some time to reflect and celebrate all that has been accomplished.

We certainly celebrated today as we gathered together for our final assembly of the year. It was so gratifying to see the generous joy and pride expressed as we honored students not only for their academic achievements but also for the many other gifts they bring to our school. Congratulations!

The celebration continued with our Yearbook dedication of Lisa Hernandez, Executive Assistant to the Head of School! The yearbook staff was tight-lipped on this one—it was a total surprise to me and Lisa. But Lisa does so much at Mayfield, especially around community gatherings. It was nice to have her celebrated this way. And after the distribution, we had a yummy Pie N’ Burger lunch topped off with delicious Handel’s Ice Cream. What a fun way to end the year.

Now—I am very much looking forward to our culminating events this weekend to honor the beloved Class of 2022. Everyone is invited to attend our Baccalaureate Mass and Senior Awards Ceremony on Saturday and our Commencement Ceremony on Sunday both starting at 6:00pm outside on the North Lawn. All the information on both events can be found on our graduation webpage. For those who can’t attend for whatever reason, I want to remind everyone there will be a livestream option as well.

Again—thank you so much for all you have done for our School and our students this year. I hope you have a wonderful, healthy and fun summer with time for relaxation with family and friends. This will be our last newsletter for the school year, but please check your emails for periodic updates from the school over the summer. I’ll be holding all of you in the Light with loving prayers.

With Love and Gratitude,

Kate Morin
