Dominating victories in meets, breaking school records and positioning for league titles

The Swim & Dive team concluded its regular season yesterday with a dominating victory over Pasadena Poly, 131-41, at Poly yesterday. The Cubs won 11 of 12 events on the day with CIF qualifying swims in 8 of them. The most impressive victory was that of our diver, Morgan Burns '25, who clinched the Prep League championship in the event with a score of 418.00 points. The score is the second highest in school history and is not only a CIF Consideration score, but an All-American Consideration score as well. The Cubs, who finished 11-0 on the season, have not lost a dual meet since April 2, 2019—a streak of 24 meets in a row. The team will look to win their second consecutive league title next weekend in the Prep League Finals on Saturday afternoon. The JV team has won 16 consecutive league titles going back to 2005 and they also look well positioned for another league title.

The Track & Field team handily won the final Prep League cluster meet of the season on Wednesday night. The Cubs scored 117 points—over 60 more than any of the other schools in the league and had victories from Sade Falese ‘23, Liz Goethals ‘23, Nikki Hensley ‘24, Cecilia Kvochak ‘23, Jayde Lim ‘24, Sophie Limongelli ‘25, Natalie Miera ‘23 and Sissy Page ‘25. Prep League Prelims are this Wednesday at Duarte HS before the League Finals on 4/26. The Cubs are the big favorites after capturing the past seven consecutive league titles.

Softball also had a successful week. defeating Pasadena Poly 15-2, last Saturday and Westridge, 9-0, yesterday. The Cubs still have three more league games but have already locked up the 3rd place spot in league and a playoff berth.

Badminton had their best match over the season. The Cubs gave league power San Marino all they could handle on Tuesday before eventually falling, 12-9, in a terrific performance from the Loyola and Mayfield co-ed team. With Loyola's spring break this week, the Cubs will take the week off from matches before finishing the regular season during the last week of April.

We have Senior Nights for all four of our teams as well as league championships and playoff runs on the horizon. Come out to a game, match, or meet and have a great time cheering on the Cubs!
