Take a bow Mayfield faculty and staff! You’re ‘amazing!’

Gratitude overflowed when the Parents Board and Board of Trustees celebrated Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, honoring those whose loving work elevates Mayfield to excellence.

“This wonderfully unique Mayfield learning environment is not so much about walls and classrooms,” said Board of Trustees Chair Joe Eisele (Alexandra ’14). “It’s about the love, the care and the excellence of our teachers, administration and staff, who support our young women through these critical years and help them grow into the leaders of the future.”

As teachers and staff enjoyed an elegant lunch break in Strub Hall—complete with linens and personal handwritten notes of thanks from parents—several parents and Board leaders expressed their gratitude for the work of our extraordinary Mayfield educators.

“When I think about our five years here so far as parents, I always tell people that Mayfield is special. It’s different; it’s amazing,” said Parents Board member Nancy Tupy (Madeline ’18, Katherine ’19 and Sarah ’21). “I have yet to come across a teacher who doesn't give more than I would ever expect a teacher to give. You are there for our girls, and as parents we see it, we know it.”

At Mayfield, we have the student testimonials to prove this! Our students consistently say that their caring teachers go above and beyond to ensure their success. While our academics can be rigorous, teachers give their all.

“I can really depend on my teachers to help me with anything I don’t understand or I can just have a conversation with them,” Gillian Gorocica ’21, has said. “There are always there to pump me up.”

Mayfield’s 46 teachers hold 43 advanced degrees, including seven Ph.D.s and one J.D. Virtually all of them serve as club advisors, coaches and tutors for our students.

Their contributions, Mr. Eisele said, are a big reason that “Mayfield is on fire right now—and in a good way!”

Mrs. Tupy said that every time she and her husband step on campus the greetings are so warm that “it feels like a welcome home...You truly are the best of the best and you are very much appreciated.”
