Global Learning & Exchange Programs

The World Is Our Classroom

At Mayfield, learning goes beyond classroom door. Through immersive educational travel experiences, students step into the world, expanding their perspective, strengthening their sense of purpose, and discovering who they are called to become.

These journeys invite students to apply what they study in new cultural contexts while deepening their understanding of the world, their values, and the intersection of faith, learning, and global citizenship.

Why Global Engagement at Mayfield?

  • Apply learning beyond the classroom

  • Grow in confidence, independence, and perspective

  • Experience faith and service in action

  • Build meaningful global relationships

This year’s global engagement opportunities invite students to experience history, culture, and creativity on an international stage. Through immersive travel, students encounter the arts, literature, language, and cultural traditions that have shaped societies across the world.

Upcoming experiences include:

  • Exploring the art, architecture, and religious heritage of Spain and Italy

  • Engaging with China’s past and present through cultural landmarks, historic sites, and modern city life

  • Connecting classroom learning to lived experience through guided exploration and reflection

These journeys emphasize curiosity, cultural understanding, and global awareness—helping students see the world, and themselves, in new ways.

Holy Child Network Exchanges

As part of the global Holy Child Network, Mayfield students have the opportunity to participate in exchange experiences with sister schools. These reciprocal exchanges allow students to live with host families, attend school abroad, and build lasting relationships grounded in shared values.

Exchange opportunities include:

  • Holy Child Killiney in Ireland

  • Connelly School of the Holy Child in Maryland

These experiences foster independence, empathy, and a deep sense of global connection.

What's next?

Next year’s travel opportunities offer students immersive experiences rooted in artistic expression and cultural engagement. Students will have the chance to explore the performing and visual arts within some of the world’s most influential cultural centers—learning directly from spaces, institutions, and traditions that shape global creativity.

Areas of focus include:

  • Dance, theatre, and live performance

  • Visual arts and world-class museums

  • Creative expression in global cities
