Patrons for the Arts
The Mayfield Patrons for the Arts supports arts education by honoring Cornelia Connelly’s vision of the arts as an integral part of a rich education. We see an important role for parents to show and share our commitment to all conservatory programs, our students, and the Mayfield community.
We like to say that we are Mayfield Patrons “for” the Arts, not “of” the Arts because we definitively declare our support for Mayfield artists.
Who is the we? “We” are parents, “we” are fellow students, “we” are alumnae, “we” are faculty and staff, and “we” are lovers of the arts from our school community and beyond. We welcome all who are “for” the arts at Mayfield to join and share their passion and support.
What do “we” do? As a parent volunteer organization, we share our time, treasure, and talents to:
- Highlight the conservatory programs as one of the jewels of Mayfield Senior School and the greater Pasadena area
- Continue to nurture and support a dynamic environment for the arts at Mayfield through inter-conservatory enrichment programs
- Organize fun and financially successful fundraising events to help buy needed equipment, teaching resources, and other items approved by the school
- Along with the Arts Faculty, help organize events honoring the students and their artistic and performance achievements
Take a moment to reflect on how you’d like to support our young writers, singers, dancers, musicians, artists, photographers, filmmakers, actors and theatre technicians. Remember, there’s nothing quite like opening night, especially when it’s your home-grown talent who is “breaking a leg.”
