The De Pietro Family

De Pietro Scholar Guilia deSalvo ’07 with Dennis De Pietro, Scholarship Luncheon 2006.

In the fall of 2002, Mayfield was honored to receive the gift of an endowed scholarship in the amount of $50,000 from the De Pietro family. Erin De Pietro graduated from Mayfield in 1994; espousing the foundation of knowledge and faith taught at Mayfield, her grandmother Frances established the De Pietro Family Scholarship, to be given to a student with financial need who demonstrates academic excellence and has an interest in math or the sciences.

The scholarship's parameters reflect Erin's own interests. In fact, she chose to come to Mayfield because the science program was so strong. Erin recalls her years at Mayfield fondly, “I loved Mayfield. High school is traumatic for many people, but I had never experienced such a sense of community - I still haven't! Mayfield is really a home.” The De Pietros are tightly connected with the Mayfield community on many levels; Erin's mother Susan was president of the Mayfield Guild (2000-2002).
