Mayfield is truly indebted to the Clougherty family, long-time members of our community and very generous supporters of the school. Cloughertys have been affiliated with Mayfield for almost fifty years as students, alumnae, trustees and special benefactors.

A striking example of the family’s generosity is the Mac-based Clougherty Computer Center, which opened in 1996 and continues to serve as the hub of student technological activity.  The Center was named in memory of Francis H. and Mary Clougherty, a couple who believed in the importance of Catholic education and family.

Francis and Mary sent their daughter Kathleen Clougherty Regan ‘64 to Mayfield. The family’s commitment to the school continued to deepen.  Francis served on the Board of Trustees from 1974-1977, and was named an Honorary Trustee in 1984. Kathleen served on the Board from 1993-2000, and again from 2001-present. Daughter-in-law Terry Clougherty served on the Board from 1994-2000, and again from 2004-present.

In addition to Kathleen Clougherty Regan ’64, Mayfield alumnae include Kathleen Clougherty ’94, Tara Clougherty ’95, Colleen Clougherty '99, Megan Clougherty '99 and Maureen Clougherty’06. Bernadette Clougherty will join the alumnae family when she graduates in 2008.

Francis and Mary’s spirit of generosity has been shared with the successive generations. They would be very proud of their children and grandchildren for upholding their values of family, friendship, perseverance and faith.
