Creative planning is what the newly established Van Tuyle/Blasiar Fund is all about. The Fund is the brainchild of Jean Van Tuyle Blasiar, former Board member and past parent. Restricted to programs that support planned giving, it will be used to bring interesting guest speakers and special programs to the campus for the members of the Bellefontaine Society.
Jean wrote the following to friends and family: “In establishing the Van Tuyle/Blasiar Fund at Mayfield Senior School, I hope you will honor me with a gift from you in lieu of presents at Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day and any other time you want to do something really thoughtful for me. A donation to Mayfield Senior School in my name will be restricted to this fund. I hope I have taken the burden of “what to give her” from your shoulders for all holidays. And I will be very, very happy with your gift to this important fund, restricted to planned giving. Thank you for any and all gifts you make in my name to this fund, which I hope will grow through the years and speak of who we are and what we feel to be important in our lives. This fund will also by my choice of charities for a memorial one day, instead of flowers; hopefully many years from now.”
We are grateful to Jean for her dedication to Mayfield, and for her innovation in establishing the Van Tuyle/Blasiar Fund.
