The advising program is at the heart of Mayfield’s approach to student guidance.  At weekly meetings throughout the year, students meet with their advisor and a small group of students from the same grade level.  Discussions may cover school-wide issues and broader, national trends that affect teens. Or, you might simply talk about what’s going on in your life.

Advisors are there when you need them!
Your advisor helps you plan your academic curriculum, and meets with you individually after progress reports and report cards are issued. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisors beyond the regularly scheduled meetings whenever needed. Advisors monitor the academic and co-curricular pursuits of their advisees and seek to encourage and assist their growth. They attend parent conferences, write recommendations and will alert the Director of Guidance regarding any special needs that a student might have.
