Music Conservatories shine in community

On Thursday, October 17, the Mayfield Senior School Instrumental and Vocal Conservatories presented their second annual Fall Concert, performing a myriad of songs. Under the direction of Christin Hablewitz and Andrew Alvarez, the two groups came together to present a finale of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The concert was met with a large audience and a reception afterwards.
On Saturday, October 19, the Vocal Conservatory traveled to University of Southern California for the USC Choral Festival. They performed and were then given direction from professionals. Mayfield’s group of 15 was one of the smallest in attendance, with most choirs being between 40-50 students, and they were complimented on their strength as a chorale.

Mark your calendars for Carol Night, Mayfield’s special Christmas celebration featuring the Vocal and Instrumental Conservatories, Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Carols and cookies around the fireplace in Strub Hall living room will follow!
