Accolades for student artists at Cathedral exhibit

The eye-catching and inspirational work of five Mayfield visual artists has been selected for the 2017 Robert Graham Memorial Exhibition at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, a display that will draw thousands of visitors through May.
We extend our congratulations to Orla Diver ’17, Laura Noriega ’18, Emily Pearson ’17, Erin Reeves ’17, Allison Zettlemoyer ’18. We are so proud of our Mayfield artists and our Conservatory for the Arts program that nurtures their talents!

Visual arts teachers Paul Tzanetopoulos and Theresia Rosa Kleeman, along with Head of School Kate Morin and Director of Development Angela Howell ’76, attended a Mass at the cathedral celebrating our students and others.

The Robert Graham student art exhibit features art from Catholic schools throughout the archdiocese. The late Robert Graham, in internationally renowned sculptor, designed the cathedral’s bronze doors.

Also, more good news on arts honors.

Visual Arts Foundation student Alexia Saigh ’20 won the Teen 1 division of the 2016 LA County Fair America’s Kid Photography Contest out of hundreds of entries. Alexia was also chosen as the second place winner in the Dare to Explore category of the National Geographic 2016 U.S. International Photography Contest for Kids.
