Focus Essays
We will write many short essays on various topics, both in class and as homework assignments. These Focus Essays are to be handwritten or typed on one side only of a 5 x 8-inch white file card. For specific guidelines and grading, read What Is A Focus Essay?
Papers
All papers are to be typed, double-spaced following the class format guide. Topics to be assigned in class.
Research Paper
We will write a formal research paper using library-based research techniques and following MLA essay style (used in our text by Dees, Writing the Modern Research Paper).
