Mayfield’s curriculum, described in the Course Catalogue, encompasses a broad range of courses in eight areas, providing a solid foundation for college and university work. The curriculum is carefully constructed to help students grow intellectually, spiritually, artistically, emotionally and socially.
In addition to the college preparatory classes, AP and honors courses are available to students who wish to be challenged to pursue an area of study in greater depth.
AP courses prepare students for AP exams, which are nationwide tests administered by the College Board each May. They are graded on a 5-point scale with 5 being the highest grade. Most of the nation's colleges and universities award credit, advanced placement, or both, for grades of 3 or higher. All Mayfield students enrolled in an AP class are required to take the exam.
